Overview:

Corrupt Eldritch Order is a single player, platformer-shooter with rougelite elements. Players must fight their way through randomly generated levels and gather currency to unlock new classes, new weapons, and upgrade their abilities.

Inspiration

The visual inspiration I had for this this project was based on games like Persona and Kingdom Hearts. I wanted to channel the use of color and dynamic, visually engaging shapes.

UI Components

Title and Main Menu

The general flow of the main menu was inspired by the likes of Hades and Cult of the Lamb, with art to the side and menu buttons that arrange themselves beside it.

Class Select

I wanted the class select screen to have a relatively dynamic feel to it, so I opted for a looping carousel of sorts while keeping important information static and present on the side.

Weapon Select

Since we had three (3) weapons types, I went with two columns for the light/heavy, and used the extra screen space to display weapons specs and dedicate a section for the combination weapon!

Ready-Up Screen

I always enjoy a good "ready" screen. I designed this to effectively display an "at-a-glance" look at all of your selections thus far and feel as if it was effective at that.
